about

As the world is tumbling and changing, I’ve been finding a lot of solace in my craft. Music keeps me sane(ish) and helps me to make sense of it all(ish). Especially now that I've found my 'Bernie Taupin' (Elton John's life-long lyricist), Robert Isaf. We met 2 years ago in a karaoke bar in Berlin (true story) and he is not only a wonderful human but he turned out to have the most magnificent gift to grasp the emotion in any of my phonetic hums and mumblings and turn them into lyrics that say something I didn't even know I wanted and oftentimes needed to say.

Usually before I release a track, I polish and polish it until every drop of spontaneity is lost before I let you hear it, but as everything in the world is different anyway I’ve decided to start sharing what’s in my head and heart and laptop as I’m making it. Really finishing a track takes me a lot of time and then I have to organise the mix + master + release plan + artwork... I mean, I’m definitely not complaining... I love what I do but it’s a long process and I feel what I’m writing right now is too much a reaction to right now that it would be weird to not share it right now. So over the next few weeks I'm just gonna drop my demos here and there. I hope you can judge them on the sentiment and emotion for now, that's what music was invented for after all! ;)

All proceeds will go to Black Lives Matter charities.

lyrics

The Garden

There’s an asphalt gem in the ring you gave me
The one you found
Plucked from the safe of the emerald ground

You’d break the riverbank down
If you thought diamonds would grow
A broken thing is its own reward though

I hope you know I never thought this wouldn’t be something that went on
When a tree unleaves don’t mean it’s gone I don’t know why you’re so intent on

Rushing into rushing into rushing into turning to stone –
Rushing into rushing into rushing into turning to stone –
Next to me…

There’s a rich old man in a home he’s safe in
He’s got his health –
He doesn’t worry much about much else
You say I’m selfish but well
I’ve just got places to go…

There’s a platinum crack in the plans you’re laying
Like a homespun vault
Strong as stone heart built on an active fault

If I can’t countenance walls
It’s just my wealth is a road
It’s an empty wealth if I go alone though

I wish this weren’t a wish you well an I’ll tell you so when time will tell
When I leave won’t mean I’m leaving you but you’ll have to live with yourself while you’re

Rushing into rushing into rushing into turning to stone…
Rushing into rushing into rushing into turning to stone…
Without me…

I know a garden where the dust doesn’t blow;
I’ll be there waiting for the tulips to close.
I’ll be there waiting for the ivy to go gold
And you to be there and hold me.
